Konopiště
The Konopiště chateau is located 3 km away from Benešov and it belongs among the most frequently visited chateaus in the Czech Republic. Annually, it is visited by up to 160,000 visitors.
It was built by the Benešovic family at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. It obtained its current appearance at the turn of 19th and 20th centuries, when the chateau was owned by Franz Ferdinand d’Este. Since 1918, it has been the property of the Czech state. The chateau offers 3 basic tours and 4 additional tours.
Refreshments are offered in the d’Este Café and the snack bar in the chateau courtyard. You will come across the Rose Café in the Rose garden.
You can make your walk from the parking lot to the chapels in front of the chateau more pleasant by taking a ride in a little train or a vintage cabriolet.
